Dasenai Tegami (Undelivered Letter)

"We'll meet again soon," you smiled and waved your hand
I know that there is no "soon"
Everyday, you're acting like everything's okay and exchanging hollow promises
The hands that pass each other, I wonder where they're going

We have always been innocent; holding both hands out
The selfishly sailing blue wind catches on my cheeks
Even now, I don't want to admit that this is a dream

We have always been barefoot on this shore
We chase after the glittering wavering white waves
I want to believe that someday we'll meet again

"You haven't changed," I gulped without saying that
In the place where I let my feelings rest, there were no hopes either
The reason why you can't throw away an unsent letter is because you don't want it to end
The reason why you hurt each other is because you can't let go

Your voice calling from far away that's nostalgic, isn't it?
My heart can't become honest that's irritating, isn't it?
No matter how painful it gets, you can't take it back

Can you remember the countless midsummer stars?
My heart is always with you; don't forget that
Even if it's cold at night, walking alone in the morning is too

Pass over the white of shining clouds and you'll see a rainbow
In sunsets that are almost scary, stop your feet
Even if we never meet again dawn will come for you

We have always been barefoot on this shore
We chase after the glittering wavering white waves
I want to believe that someday we'll meet again
